Welcome to Stokenham Pre-School
Stokenham Pre-School was established in 1972, and has proudly been serving the community ever since providing a welcoming, happy and safe environment for pre-school children to learn, play and develop.
We are a friendly and successful independent pre-school and are happily situated within the grounds of Stokenham Area Primary School, with whom we share a good bond with. Stokenham pre-school is a unique, magical and joyful place, where children feel confident to be their true selves, through being able to play, discover and explore the world around them at their own pace
At Stokenham pre-school our experienced friendly staff create an environment balancing play, social skills and the EYFS framework, with the goal of promoting a friendly positive experience for all, meeting children where they are, and we hope that this inclusive and tailored experience will last a lifetime
We have a large building with two rooms where the children have countless opportunities to freely access activities leading and developing their own learning experiences. We benefit from a large outdoor area with a beautiful green oak canopied area so that we can play outside come rain or shine, accessing outdoor mark-making, digging at the beach (our huge sandpit), climbing aboard the pirate ship, or travelling around on our trikes and cars, there is always something new to discover and explore
We welcome children from 2yrs – 5yrs old, Monday – Friday, during term time, pre-school is open to all children from the surrounding areas including Stokenham, Chillington, East Portlemouth, Prowl, Stoke Fleming, Dartmouth, Blackawton, Kingsbridge, Slapton and many more villages in between
We also run ‘Happy Feet Mother and Toddler’ session from 10.30am – 12.00pm, on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the month, term time only, for children aged between 0-2 years. This is a fun welcoming space to connect with other Parents/carers, while your little one plays and explores crafts, music, sensory, malleable play and story time. There is tea/coffee for adults, and drink and a snack for the children.
